The article references a couple of studies on mobile usage in the UK. I thought it was interesting that 81% of smartphone users rely on SMS as the way to send messages. Only 4% of users have uses WhatsApp. That indicates App usage has huge room to grow.

Flurry put out some interesting data on mobile usage. It basically says mobile advertising is poorly executed. Despite growing mobile time, ad budgets haven’t entered mobile.
I also thought it was interesting that TV usage is 2x that of Web but equal to Web + Mobile. And the TV continue to capture the lion share (43% ) of ad spend, despite the growth in Mobile + Web. Thank you Tivo for letting me avoid all those ads.
